Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 9, 2026
Beck is a text-message assistant operated by Sherif Sarhan, a sole proprietor ("we", "us"). This policy explains what we collect when you use Beck, how we use it, and how to delete it.
What we collect
- Your phone number. It identifies you when you text us and is the key for everything below.
- Your Google account email and name, received when you sign in with Google.
- A Google sign-in token, stored encrypted, so Beck can read your Gmail, Google Calendar, and Google Drive on your behalf when you ask.
- Your conversation with Beck: the text messages you send and the replies we send, kept to the most recent 20 so the assistant can follow context.
- Team notes: if your team sets up a shared Google Doc, Beck reads it and, when you explicitly ask, appends to it using your own Google account.
How we use Google user data
When you ask a question, Beck reads only what is needed to answer it: it searches and reads email threads, lists and creates calendar events, searches and reads files. It writes only Gmail drafts and calendar events. It never sends email on your behalf and never deletes anything. Content read from your Google account is sent to our AI provider (Anthropic) to produce the reply and is not stored by us beyond the reply text in your conversation history.
Beck's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We do not use Google user data for advertising, and we do not sell it. Humans do not read your Google data except with your consent, for security, or as required by law.
Text messaging and your mobile information
You opt in to text messages from Beck by sending us a text first. Every message we send is a reply to something you asked, or a short service notice about your account. Message frequency varies with how often you text us. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP at any time to stop receiving messages and HELP for help.
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Information sharing with service providers who help us operate the service (for example, our messaging carrier and hosting providers) is limited to what is necessary to deliver your messages. All other categories of information sharing exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.
Service providers
- Twilio delivers text messages to and from your phone.
- Anthropic provides the AI model that reads your request and drafts the reply.
- Google provides sign-in and the Gmail, Calendar, Drive, and Docs services Beck reads.
- Hosting providers run the server and store the data described above.
Each receives only what is needed to perform its function. None may use your data for its own purposes.
Retention and deletion
We keep your data while your account is connected. Text DISCONNECT to Beck at any time to delete your phone number, email, sign-in token, and conversation history immediately. You can also revoke Beck's access to your Google account at myaccount.google.com/permissions. To request deletion by email, contact us at the address below.
Security
Sign-in tokens are encrypted at rest. Data is transmitted over HTTPS. No method of storage is perfectly secure, and we will notify you if we learn of a breach affecting your data.
Children
Beck is for working adults and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes
We will post any changes to this policy on this page and update the date at the top.
